Use the CLI to manage sites, CMS content, forms, and assets, build and share code components, manage Webflow Cloud deployments, and sync code with your Webflow sites directly from the command line. With the CLI, you can: #### [Manage Sites](/cli/command-reference#sites) List, inspect, and publish Webflow sites without leaving the terminal. #### [Manage Assets](/cli/command-reference#assets) Upload, update, and organize site assets and folders from the command line. #### [Manage CMS Content](/cli/command-reference#cms) Create, read, update, and publish CMS collections, fields, and items via the API. #### [Manage Forms](/cli/command-reference#forms) List forms and export submissions to JSON or CSV from the command line. #### [Authenticate](/cli/authentication) Log in once and manage your session across all CLI commands with `auth login`, `auth status`, and `auth logout`. #### [Share Code Components](/cli/command-reference#devlink-import) Create reusable React components and deploy them directly to the Webflow Designer. #### [Export components with DevLink](/cli/command-reference#devlink-export) Export your Webflow Components as a self-contained local React bundle. #### [Deploy to Webflow Cloud](/cli/command-reference#webflow-cloud) Host and manage full-stack applications with serverless functions, data storage, and dynamic routing. #### [Create Designer Extensions](/cli/configuration#designer-extensions) Develop custom applications that run directly inside the Webflow Designer. --- ## Installation The Webflow CLI requires Node.js 22.13.0 or higher. Install the Webflow CLI globally using npm: ```bash npm install -g @webflow/webflow-cli ``` Verify the installation: ```bash webflow --version ``` --- ## Authentication Authentication connects your Webflow account to the CLI, enabling you to deploy and sync code with Webflow. ```bash webflow auth login ``` This opens your browser to authenticate with a workspace. After you grant access, the CLI stores a session in a global file (`~/.config/webflow/auth.json`, or `%APPDATA%\webflow\auth.json` on Windows) shared across every project on your machine. For more information, see the [authentication documentation](/cli/authentication). --- ## Configuration The `webflow.json` file is used to configure the CLI and should always be in the root of your app. Here you'll define your app type, and the configuration for each product you're using. Below is an example of a `webflow.json` file for an app that uses Code Components, DevLink, and Webflow Cloud. To see more on configuration, see the [configuration documentation](/cli/configuration). ```json { "siteId": "", "cloud": { "app_id": "", "framework": "astro" }, "devlink-export": { "rootDir": "./webflow", "components": ".*", "componentGroups": ".*", "ts": true, "cssScopes": true, "relativeHrefRoot": "/" }, "extensions": { "name": "", "apiVersion": "2", "publicDir": "dist" }, "library": { "name": "", "components": ["./src/**/*.webflow.@(js|jsx|mjs|ts|tsx)"], "bundleConfig": "./webpack.webflow.js" } } ``` --- ## Commands The CLI is organized by command group: | Command | Description | | ------------------- | ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- | | `webflow auth` | [Authenticate and manage your session](/cli/authentication) | | `webflow sites` | [List, inspect, and publish sites](/cli/command-reference#sites) | | `webflow forms` | [List forms and export submissions](/cli/command-reference#forms) | | `webflow assets` | [Upload and manage site assets](/cli/command-reference#assets) | | `webflow cms` | [Manage CMS collections, fields, and items](/cli/command-reference#cms) | | `webflow devlink` | [Export Webflow components as local React code, and deploy Code Component libraries to Webflow](/devlink/reference/cli) | | `webflow cloud` | [Deploy to Webflow Cloud](/webflow-cloud) | | `webflow extension` | [Create Designer Extensions](/designer/reference/introduction) | Use `--help` with any command to see available options: ```bash webflow devlink --help ``` For more information on each command, see the [command reference](/cli/command-reference). > Get started developing and deploying code with the Webflow CLI ## Docs - [Authenticate with Webflow](https://developers.webflow.com/cli/authentication.md): Learn about authentication options for the Webflow CLI. - [Configure your Webflow app](https://developers.webflow.com/cli/configuration.md): Learn how to configure your Webflow app with the Webflow CLI. - [Command Reference](https://developers.webflow.com/cli/command-reference.md): Reference for all commands available in the Webflow CLI - [Agents & CI/CD](https://developers.webflow.com/cli/agent-workflows.md): Run the Webflow CLI non-interactively from AI agents, scripts, and CI/CD pipelines — required flags, machine-readable errors, ID resolution, and Webflow Cloud deployment workflows. - [Migrating to CLI 2.0](https://developers.webflow.com/cli/migration.md): Upgrade your app from Webflow CLI 1.x to 2.0: renamed commands and a new Node.js minimum version.
